0:00

you talked about how

0:02

personal the shop is

0:06

but at the same time it's your business

0:08

it's not you

0:09

right so

0:11

how do you manage the separation of

0:13

those two things how do you integrate

0:15

the hectic lifestyle of an entrepreneur

0:20

with family life but then also

0:22

keep it separate so that when you have a

0:24

bad day at home doesn't mean a bad day

0:26

of business a bad day of business

0:28

doesn't translate to a bad day at home

0:31

um

0:32

honestly

0:35

because i i

0:37

it's funny you say that the hectic life

0:40

of an entrepreneur

0:43

because honestly

0:46

i i honestly thought it would be easier

0:49

to

0:51

wear that badge

0:53

you know of an entrepreneur but it

0:55

like i said i i've been so non-stop that

0:58

it it's hard to even really look at it

1:00

like that and so

1:04

it really just feels like i'm getting up

1:06

to go to work not necessarily

1:09

you know what i mean like obviously i

1:11

know

1:12

i don't have to go in and clock in or or

1:15

ask anybody can i leave or anything like

1:17

that you know what i'm saying but it

1:19

still it still doesn't necessarily feel

1:22

like

1:23

um

1:25

what it is

1:26

if

1:27

that means at all so

1:29

in some ways it's easy to to have that

1:32

separation because i know

1:35

um i

1:36

it's time to get up trying to get

1:38

dressed time to go to work when i'm in

1:40

there you know i i'm experiencing it the

1:43

same way you are

1:44

so you know i come in i cut the cut the

1:47

music on

1:50

i'm feeling better whatever you know

1:52

what i'm saying like

1:53

if it started out as a tough morning you

1:56

know

1:57

by the third song

2:01

you know what i'm saying

2:02

um

2:04

uh you know i

2:06

make myself a cup of coffee you know

2:09

what i'm saying

2:10

now i am feeling

2:12

a little a little more on point you know

2:15

what i'm saying and so

2:16

you know i'm i'm

2:18

looking at the art i'm you know thumbing

2:20

through some of the books you know some

2:22

of the magazines

2:24

uh and so

2:26

from that perspective

2:27

i'm experiencing the same thing

2:30

in the same way that everybody else is

2:33

um

2:34

and then when i leave

2:37

i go straight to pick the kids up

2:39

so it's easy to say i

2:42

when i leave here i'm gone

2:44

yeah you know

2:46

there's times where i have to

2:48

you know

2:49

order inventory and do you know stuff

2:51

that i wasn't able to do while i was at

2:53

the shop because i'm you know serving

2:55

customers and so i couldn't just lock in

2:58

on a computer to do some of that sort of

2:59

administrative stuff

3:01

right

3:02

some of that stuff you know i get back

3:04

to at the end of the day or you know

3:06

just really

3:07

make a note to get it done when i get in

3:09

the next morning but

3:11

it's easy to disconnect when you got

3:13

two kids telling you they need to hear

3:16

you know

3:18

some kids bought jam

3:20

uh

3:22

one of them want apple juice the other

3:24

one one you know

3:26

sour worms or something like that like

3:29

i'm not thinking about the coffee shop

3:31

at that point

3:32

yeah

3:33

i'm trying to keep these kids from

3:35

driving me crazy and so

3:38

you know from that perspective it's easy

3:40

to have that separation because when i'm

3:43

when i'm

3:44

when i'm out of there i'm all the way in

3:47

you know dad mode husband mode

3:50

um

3:51

[Music]

3:52

and then

3:54

once

3:55

once we get them down you know i can

3:57

maybe tap back into

4:00

shop owner mode you know right

4:02

start getting some more stuff done

4:05

um and so from from from that

4:06

perspective is i've i've

4:10

managed to kind of make that

4:12

in and out transition fairly easy

4:17

[Music]

4:28

you
